Not all dentists are equal. I came to see Dr. Laudati many years ago with trepidation but have continued to be a patient ever since. I had remained with a dentist in Connecticut for 10 years after leaving the state because of the faith I had in that gentleman. Then I went through a revolving door of dentists at another Long Island practice ending up with someone who should definitely find another occupation. After leaving them, I went to a "highly recommended" charlatan who put not one, but two ill-fitting crowns on the same tooth (I kept the latter one because it was far better than the first). That charlatan is no longer practicing (the person who highly recommended him to us had by then filed a lawsuit against him). For nearly 10 years after that I refused to see a dentist until Dr. Laudati was recommended to us. At the time, I was considering returning to the fellow in Connecticut who had by then turned his practice over to his son. Dr. Laudati's practice was likewise a family affair, so my wife and I decided to give him a try. The recommendation this time was good. I have not considered going elsewhere since my first visit. Dr. Laudati is as thorough and competent as any dentist I have met and his interpersonal skills let his patients know that they are far more than just a mouth full of teeth that should be flossed more frequently. I have been with Dr. Laudati now for as many years as I had been with the Connecticut dentist and would likely be willing to commute here from Connecticut for my checkups if the situation warranted it. Luckily, I am much closer. We should be grateful for dentists like Dr. Laudati. I know I am.
